Leave requests left email and never came back

Managers approve leave from their phones now, which was the whole point. Workplace skills plan and annual training report in SETA format. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

What works

BCEA leave correct with no configuration. Document storage with e signature removed a printing step entirely. Reporting on headcount and turnover is available without asking IT.

What does not

Data is hosted offshore, which our information officer had to sign off.

Works, but BCEA leave needed configuring

The configuration took longer than promised, and it works well now. BCEA leave correct with no configuration. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

What does not

BCEA leave had to be configured rather than selected. The mobile experience is weaker than the desktop.

The employee file being in one place made our last inspection straightforward. Employment equity reporting built into the data model. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Onboarding admin dropped by half

We had leave in a shared spreadsheet for six years. This was overdue. B-BBEE scorecard inputs produced directly. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.
