Migrated away after fourteen months

I have spent more time working around this than working in it. In practice, the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. Test it hard during the trial with real volume before committing.

What works

It is inexpensive.

What does not

Support responses were slow and generic. Bank feed failures went unresolved for weeks. Migration lost historical detail we needed for the audit.

Thank you for the feedback and for being a customer. We have shared your comments on the mobile experience with our product team, and a redesigned application is currently in beta.

Migration was painful, the result was worth it

I run the books for three related companies and this is the first system that has kept up. Works through load shedding and connection loss. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

What works

Works through load shedding and connection loss. Multi currency handling is genuinely correct on unrealised gains. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost.

What does not

Support response times slow noticeably at month end.

Competent but the support tests your patience

It has been fine, with a couple of persistent irritations. Thirty years of trained South African operators. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

What works

Multi warehouse inventory with serial, lot and bill of materials. The core ledger is reliable.

What does not

There is no direct submission to eFiling, so the return is captured by hand. Getting a person on the phone is difficult.

VAT season stopped being a crisis

We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. A report writer that will produce almost any layout. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What does not

Inventory is too basic for a stock heavy business.

Reconciliation went from a week to an afternoon

What works

A report writer that will produce almost any layout. The audit trail has answered every query our auditors raised. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly.

What does not

Support response times slow noticeably at month end.

Works well once you accept its limits

Good enough that changing again is not worth the disruption. Works through load shedding and connection loss. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

What works

Multi warehouse inventory with serial, lot and bill of materials. The mobile app is useful for approving payments.

What does not

The report customisation is limited. Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should.

Migration was painful, the result was worth it

After two years I can say the reconciliation time saving is real and it is significant. A report writer that will produce almost any layout. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

Thirty years of trained South African operators. Month end close has dropped from six days to two. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost.
