Employees actually log in, which surprised me

We had leave in a shared spreadsheet for six years. This was overdue. A workflow builder that removes routine approval admin. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

A workflow builder that removes routine approval admin. Onboarding checklists removed most of the first week paperwork. Document storage with e signature removed a printing step entirely.

What does not

Reporting is adequate rather than strong.

Fine platform, priced above what we use

Solid for the core, but we still keep a spreadsheet for the reporting we actually need. Applicant tracking well above its price point. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

The employee file being in one place made our last inspection straightforward. Applicant tracking well above its price point. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. We went back to spreadsheets after nine months

It was clearly built for a different labour market. The thing worth knowing is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. I would look elsewhere unless price is the only consideration.

Document storage works.

What does not

Support hours do not overlap with our working day. Leave rules never matched South African requirements. The interface is dated and slow.
