Solid core, disappointing reporting

The configuration took longer than promised, and it works well now. A workflow builder that removes routine approval admin. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

What does not

There is no local payroll integration. The mobile experience is weaker than the desktop.

Managers use it without being chased

We had leave in a shared spreadsheet for six years. This was overdue. Custom reporting an HR manager can drive unaided. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Custom reporting an HR manager can drive unaided. Onboarding checklists removed most of the first week paperwork. The employee file holds everything in one place with proper permissions.

What does not

Data is hosted offshore, which our information officer had to sign off.

Fine platform, priced above what we use

It has reduced admin, just not as much as the demo suggested. Flexible enough leave rules to model BCEA correctly. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests.
