Employees actually log in, which surprised me

We had leave in a shared spreadsheet for six years. This was overdue. A workflow builder that removes routine approval admin. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Flexible enough leave rules to model BCEA correctly. Reporting on headcount and turnover is available without asking IT. The employee file holds everything in one place with proper permissions.

What does not

Reporting is adequate rather than strong.

There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

No real understanding of South African labour law

The leave rules never matched the BCEA properly and we gave up correcting them. The thing worth knowing is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. It has cost us more time than it has saved. We moved to an alternative and the difference was immediate.

What works

Document storage works.

What does not

The interface is dated and slow. Leave rules never matched South African requirements. Support hours do not overlap with our working day.
