One system across four branches

The implementation partner was excellent, which I think matters more than the badge. Manufacturing and bill of materials without moving up a tier. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

What works

Local statutory reporting maintained by the vendor. Branch reporting comes out without a spreadsheet in between. Stock on hand matches the physical count for the first time in years.

What does not

Implementation cost more than the licence, as expected but still painful.

One system across four branches

Two years post go live and I would make the same decision. Strong multi warehouse and multi branch handling. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

What works

Strong multi warehouse and multi branch handling. Traceability from raw material to finished goods is complete. Landed cost calculations are accurate including duty and clearing.

What does not

Implementation cost more than the licence, as expected but still painful.

Powerful, and it demands a specialist

It does everything we asked for and none of it was quick. The largest ERP implementation partner base in South Africa. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Good value, with some real rough edges.

What works

Manufacturing and bill of materials without moving up a tier. The partner network means help is available.

What does not

Reporting requires a specialist to build. The local statutory reporting depends entirely on the partner.

Good core, dated interface

It does everything we asked for and none of it was quick. The largest ERP implementation partner base in South Africa. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.

What works

Local statutory reporting maintained by the vendor. The partner network means help is available.

What does not

The local statutory reporting depends entirely on the partner. Remote access needs a hosted desktop.

Right system, wrong implementation partner

Good system, and you must budget for the support relationship indefinitely. Manufacturing and bill of materials without moving up a tier. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

What works

The largest ERP implementation partner base in South Africa. Reporting is capable once configured.

What does not

The local statutory reporting depends entirely on the partner. Version upgrades are projects rather than updates.

Landed cost is finally accurate

The implementation partner was excellent, which I think matters more than the badge. Manufacturing and bill of materials without moving up a tier. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

What works

Strong multi warehouse and multi branch handling. Traceability from raw material to finished goods is complete. Consolidation across our companies takes days rather than weeks.

What does not

Implementation cost more than the licence, as expected but still painful.

One system across four branches

We run four warehouses and two companies on this and the consolidation works. Manufacturing and bill of materials without moving up a tier. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

Local statutory reporting maintained by the vendor. Branch reporting comes out without a spreadsheet in between. Stock on hand matches the physical count for the first time in years.

What does not

Configuration changes need the partner rather than an internal administrator.

Implementation ran eleven months over

The local statutory reporting was never delivered as promised. In practice, the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. It has cost us more time than it has saved. We moved to an alternative and the difference was immediate.

What works

The core accounting works.

What does not

Renewal pricing increased well beyond inflation. Localisation was incomplete at go live. We are still running parallel spreadsheets.

There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.
