Migration was painful, the result was worth it

We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. Thirty years of trained South African operators. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Thirty years of trained South African operators. VAT201 figures come out right without a manual working paper. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost.

What does not

Support response times slow noticeably at month end.

Does the compliance work without being asked

That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

What works

A report writer that will produce almost any layout. Month end close has dropped from six days to two. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost.

What does not

The interface has not aged well.

Not built for a South African VAT vendor

The trial went well. Live use with real volume did not. Where it earns its keep is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. I would look elsewhere unless price is the only consideration.

I have spent more time working around this than working in it. Where it earns its keep is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. It has cost us more time than it has saved. We moved to an alternative and the difference was immediate.

Fine for us, would not recommend for stock heavy businesses

We chose this on price and mostly that decision has held up. Multi warehouse inventory with serial, lot and bill of materials. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Good value, with some real rough edges.

Thirty years of trained South African operators. The mobile app is useful for approving payments.

What does not

Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses. Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should.
