VAT season stopped being a crisis

I run the books for three related companies and this is the first system that has kept up. Thirty years of trained South African operators. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

Multi warehouse inventory with serial, lot and bill of materials. The audit trail has answered every query our auditors raised. Multi currency handling is genuinely correct on unrealised gains.

What does not

Reporting beyond the standard pack still ends up in a spreadsheet.

Fine for us, would not recommend for stock heavy businesses

It has been fine, with a couple of persistent irritations. A report writer that will produce almost any layout. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. I would shortlist it, not necessarily pick it.

What works

Works through load shedding and connection loss. The mobile app is useful for approving payments.

What does not

Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses. Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should.

Migrated away after fourteen months

I have spent more time working around this than working in it. The thing worth knowing is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. I would look elsewhere unless price is the only consideration.
