Debtors Manager
I run the books for three related companies and this is the first system that has kept up. A report writer that will produce almost any layout. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.
What works
Works through load shedding and connection loss. The audit trail has answered every query our auditors raised. Multi currency handling is genuinely correct on unrealised gains.
What does not
Inventory is too basic for a stock heavy business.

We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. Multi warehouse inventory with serial, lot and bill of materials. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.
What works
A report writer that will produce almost any layout. Invoices go out looking professional with no design work. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly.
What does not
The interface has not aged well.

After two years I can say the reconciliation time saving is real and it is significant. A report writer that will produce almost any layout. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.
What works
Thirty years of trained South African operators. Multi currency handling is genuinely correct on unrealised gains. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly.
What does not
The interface has not aged well.

I have spent more time working around this than working in it. The thing worth knowing is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. I would look elsewhere unless price is the only consideration.
What works
It is inexpensive.
What does not
Migration lost historical detail we needed for the audit. Bank feed failures went unresolved for weeks. Support responses were slow and generic.

We chose this on price and mostly that decision has held up. Thirty years of trained South African operators. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.
What works
Multi warehouse inventory with serial, lot and bill of materials. Pricing is predictable with no surprise increases.
What does not
There is no direct submission to eFiling, so the return is captured by hand. Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses.

Our practice put four clients on this before we moved our own business across. Works through load shedding and connection loss. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.
What works
Works through load shedding and connection loss. Multi currency handling is genuinely correct on unrealised gains. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost.
What does not
Support response times slow noticeably at month end.

It does what we need and I have no strong feelings about it either way. Multi warehouse inventory with serial, lot and bill of materials. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.
What works
Thirty years of trained South African operators. The core ledger is reliable.
What does not
The report customisation is limited. Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses.

It has been fine, with a couple of persistent irritations. A report writer that will produce almost any layout. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.
What works
Works through load shedding and connection loss. The core ledger is reliable.
What does not
Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses. Getting a person on the phone is difficult.

There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.
