Go live was on time and under budget

The implementation partner was excellent, which I think matters more than the badge. Fast analytics on large datasets through the HANA edition. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

Financial controls and audit trail that satisfy group finance. Stock on hand matches the physical count for the first time in years. Consolidation across our companies takes days rather than weeks.

What does not

Implementation cost more than the licence, as expected but still painful.

We are still reconciling stock by hand

Under scoped implementation, and we discovered it after go live. In practice, the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. It has cost us more time than it has saved. It may suit a simpler business than ours.

What works

The core accounting works.

What does not

We are still running parallel spreadsheets. Localisation was incomplete at go live. The implementation ran badly over time and budget.

Powerful, and it demands a specialist

Good system, and you must budget for the support relationship indefinitely. Global partner network for multi country groups. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Good value, with some real rough edges.

What works

Fast analytics on large datasets through the HANA edition. The financials module is solid.

What does not

Version upgrades are projects rather than updates. Reporting requires a specialist to build.
