Solid core, disappointing reporting

It has reduced admin, just not as much as the demo suggested. Employment equity reporting built into the data model. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.

What works

B-BBEE scorecard inputs produced directly. Managers found it easy enough to use.

What does not

BCEA leave had to be configured rather than selected. The mobile experience is weaker than the desktop.

Leave accruals were wrong from day one

The leave rules never matched the BCEA properly and we gave up correcting them. The honest position is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. I would look elsewhere unless price is the only consideration.

What works

Document storage works.

What does not

Support hours do not overlap with our working day. The interface is dated and slow. Leave rules never matched South African requirements.

The audit trail saved us at a CCMA hearing

We had leave in a shared spreadsheet for six years. This was overdue. B-BBEE scorecard inputs produced directly. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

Workplace skills plan and annual training report in SETA format. Leave requests and approvals happen on the phone without training. The employee file holds everything in one place with proper permissions.

What does not

Data is hosted offshore, which our information officer had to sign off.
