Implementation ran eleven months over

Under scoped implementation, and we discovered it after go live. Where it earns its keep is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. We moved to an alternative and the difference was immediate.

What works

The core accounting works.

What does not

We are still running parallel spreadsheets. Localisation was incomplete at go live. Renewal pricing increased well beyond inflation.

The partner made the difference, not the software

Two years post go live and I would make the same decision. The largest ERP implementation partner base in South Africa. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

The largest ERP implementation partner base in South Africa. Traceability from raw material to finished goods is complete. Stock on hand matches the physical count for the first time in years.

What does not

Implementation cost more than the licence, as expected but still painful.

Stock and the ledger finally agree

The implementation partner was excellent, which I think matters more than the badge. Manufacturing and bill of materials without moving up a tier. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

Local statutory reporting maintained by the vendor. Consolidation across our companies takes days rather than weeks. Traceability from raw material to finished goods is complete.

What does not

Configuration changes need the partner rather than an internal administrator.

There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

Strong multi warehouse and multi branch handling. Traceability from raw material to finished goods is complete. Branch reporting comes out without a spreadsheet in between.

The interface is dense and training is a real line item.

The localisation was never properly finished

The local statutory reporting was never delivered as promised. In practice, the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. I would look elsewhere unless price is the only consideration.
