Our bookkeeper got two days a month back

We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. A report writer that will produce almost any layout. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Works through load shedding and connection loss. Month end close has dropped from six days to two. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly.

What does not

Support response times slow noticeably at month end.

Fine for us, would not recommend for stock heavy businesses

It does what we need and I have no strong feelings about it either way. Multi warehouse inventory with serial, lot and bill of materials. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.

What works

Works through load shedding and connection loss. The core ledger is reliable.

What does not

There is no direct submission to eFiling, so the return is captured by hand. Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses.

The bank feed problems never got fixed

We committed to this on a recommendation and I regret not testing it properly first. What surprised me was that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. We moved to an alternative and the difference was immediate.

What works

Setup was quick.

What does not

Bank feed failures went unresolved for weeks. Migration lost historical detail we needed for the audit. Support responses were slow and generic.

Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

Multi warehouse inventory with serial, lot and bill of materials. VAT201 figures come out right without a manual working paper. Invoices go out looking professional with no design work.

What does not

Inventory is too basic for a stock heavy business.
