Go live was on time and under budget

Two years post go live and I would make the same decision. Fast analytics on large datasets through the HANA edition. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Financial controls and audit trail that satisfy group finance. Branch reporting comes out without a spreadsheet in between. Consolidation across our companies takes days rather than weeks.

What does not

Implementation cost more than the licence, as expected but still painful.

The implementation partner was excellent, which I think matters more than the badge. Global partner network for multi country groups. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

Right system, wrong implementation partner

It does everything we asked for and none of it was quick. Financial controls and audit trail that satisfy group finance. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

Fast analytics on large datasets through the HANA edition. Reporting is capable once configured.

What does not

Remote access needs a hosted desktop. The local statutory reporting depends entirely on the partner.
