One system across four branches

We run four warehouses and two companies on this and the consolidation works. Financial controls and audit trail that satisfy group finance. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Financial controls and audit trail that satisfy group finance. Landed cost calculations are accurate including duty and clearing. Stock on hand matches the physical count for the first time in years.

What does not

Implementation cost more than the licence, as expected but still painful.

Go live was on time and under budget

The implementation partner was excellent, which I think matters more than the badge. Fast analytics on large datasets through the HANA edition. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

What works

Rigorous data model that resists bad practice. Branch reporting comes out without a spreadsheet in between. Landed cost calculations are accurate including duty and clearing.

What does not

Implementation cost more than the licence, as expected but still painful.

Good core, dated interface

The software is capable. Our implementation was mediocre and we are still paying for that. Rigorous data model that resists bad practice. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. I would shortlist it, not necessarily pick it.

What works

Rigorous data model that resists bad practice. Reporting is capable once configured.

What does not

Reporting requires a specialist to build. The local statutory reporting depends entirely on the partner.

We are still reconciling stock by hand

The local statutory reporting was never delivered as promised. What surprised me was that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. I would look elsewhere unless price is the only consideration.

What works

It is stable once running.

What does not

Renewal pricing increased well beyond inflation. Localisation was incomplete at go live. We are still running parallel spreadsheets.

Good system, and you must budget for the support relationship indefinitely. Financial controls and audit trail that satisfy group finance. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests.
