The bank feed problems never got fixed

I have spent more time working around this than working in it. For context, the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. It may suit a simpler business than ours.

What works

The invoicing side works.

What does not

Bank feed failures went unresolved for weeks. Migration lost historical detail we needed for the audit. Support responses were slow and generic.

Fine for us, would not recommend for stock heavy businesses

It has been fine, with a couple of persistent irritations. Unlimited invoices on the free plan. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. I would shortlist it, not necessarily pick it.

What works

Clean, uncluttered interface. Pricing is predictable with no surprise increases.

What does not

Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should. There is no direct submission to eFiling, so the return is captured by hand.

The trial went well. Live use with real volume did not. For context, the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. I would look elsewhere unless price is the only consideration.

Does the compliance work without being asked

Our practice put four clients on this before we moved our own business across. Unlimited invoices on the free plan. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

What works

Clean, uncluttered interface. VAT201 figures come out right without a manual working paper. The audit trail has answered every query our auditors raised.

What does not

Inventory is too basic for a stock heavy business.

Getting a person on the phone is difficult. Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should.

Solid, boring, and that is exactly what I wanted

After two years I can say the reconciliation time saving is real and it is significant. A genuine double entry ledger at no cost. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

What works

Unlimited invoices on the free plan. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost. Multi currency handling is genuinely correct on unrealised gains.
