Finally a ledger our accountant does not complain about

We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. Multi currency from the middle tier. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

Large global template and app ecosystem. The audit trail has answered every query our auditors raised. Invoices go out looking professional with no design work.

What does not

Reporting beyond the standard pack still ends up in a spreadsheet.

After two years I can say the reconciliation time saving is real and it is significant. Multi currency from the middle tier. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

What works

Multi currency from the middle tier. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly. VAT201 figures come out right without a manual working paper.

What does not

The interface has not aged well.

Right features, wrong price for our size

Good enough that changing again is not worth the disruption. Reporting and budgeting well ahead of its price point. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. I would shortlist it, not necessarily pick it.

What works

Reporting and budgeting well ahead of its price point. Pricing is predictable with no surprise increases.

What does not

Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses. The report customisation is limited.

Solid, boring, and that is exactly what I wanted

I run the books for three related companies and this is the first system that has kept up. The best mobile receipt capture in the category. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

What works

Multi currency from the middle tier. The audit trail has answered every query our auditors raised. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost.

What does not

The interface has not aged well.

Does the job, will not delight you

It has been fine, with a couple of persistent irritations. The best mobile receipt capture in the category. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. I would shortlist it, not necessarily pick it.

Reporting and budgeting well ahead of its price point. The mobile app is useful for approving payments.

What does not

Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses. Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should.

Cheaper than the alternatives, and you find out why

I have spent more time working around this than working in it. Where it earns its keep is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. We moved to an alternative and the difference was immediate.

What works

Setup was quick.

What does not

The VAT handling required constant manual correction. Migration lost historical detail we needed for the audit. Support responses were slow and generic.
