Our bookkeeper got two days a month back

We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. The deepest pool of trained local bookkeepers in the country. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

VAT201 output that transfers cleanly to SARS eFiling. Invoices go out looking professional with no design work. Month end close has dropped from six days to two.

What does not

I run the books for three related companies and this is the first system that has kept up. Direct bank feeds for Absa, FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank and Capitec. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Direct bank feeds for Absa, FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank and Capitec. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly.

What does not

Inventory is too basic for a stock heavy business.

Fine for us, would not recommend for stock heavy businesses

It does what we need and I have no strong feelings about it either way. VAT201 output that transfers cleanly to SARS eFiling. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

What works

Free accountant login on every plan. Invoicing is quick once the templates are set.

What does not

Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses. Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should.
