Bank feeds alone justify the subscription

I run the books for three related companies and this is the first system that has kept up. Free accountant login on every plan. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

Free accountant login on every plan. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost.

What does not

Reporting beyond the standard pack still ends up in a spreadsheet.

VAT season stopped being a crisis

After two years I can say the reconciliation time saving is real and it is significant. The deepest pool of trained local bookkeepers in the country. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

What works

VAT201 output that transfers cleanly to SARS eFiling. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost. Invoices go out looking professional with no design work.

What does not

The interface has not aged well.

Fine for us, would not recommend for stock heavy businesses

It does what we need and I have no strong feelings about it either way. VAT201 output that transfers cleanly to SARS eFiling. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Good value, with some real rough edges.

Free accountant login on every plan. The core ledger is reliable.

What does not

Getting a person on the phone is difficult. There is no direct submission to eFiling, so the return is captured by hand.

Finally a ledger our accountant does not complain about

We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. Direct bank feeds for Absa, FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank and Capitec. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

The bank feed problems never got fixed

I have spent more time working around this than working in it. The honest position is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. It has cost us more time than it has saved. We moved to an alternative and the difference was immediate.

What works

The invoicing side works.

What does not

Support responses were slow and generic. Migration lost historical detail we needed for the audit. The VAT handling required constant manual correction.

Right features, wrong price for our size

It has been fine, with a couple of persistent irritations. Direct bank feeds for Absa, FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank and Capitec. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.
