Finally a ledger our accountant does not complain about

I run the books for three related companies and this is the first system that has kept up. Free accountant login on every plan. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

What works

The deepest pool of trained local bookkeepers in the country. Multi currency handling is genuinely correct on unrealised gains. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly.

What does not

The interface has not aged well.

Our practice put four clients on this before we moved our own business across. Direct bank feeds for Absa, FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank and Capitec. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

The deepest pool of trained local bookkeepers in the country. Month end close has dropped from six days to two. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly.

What does not

Reporting beyond the standard pack still ends up in a spreadsheet.

Does the job, will not delight you

It has been fine, with a couple of persistent irritations. The deepest pool of trained local bookkeepers in the country. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.

What does not

The report customisation is limited. Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should.
