Migration was painful, the result was worth it

We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. VAT201 output that transfers cleanly to SARS eFiling. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

Direct bank feeds for Absa, FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank and Capitec. The audit trail has answered every query our auditors raised. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly.

What does not

The interface has not aged well.

That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

VAT201 output that transfers cleanly to SARS eFiling. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost. VAT201 figures come out right without a manual working paper.

What does not

The interface has not aged well.

Fine for us, would not recommend for stock heavy businesses

Good enough that changing again is not worth the disruption. Direct bank feeds for Absa, FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank and Capitec. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

What works

Free accountant login on every plan. The core ledger is reliable.

What does not

Getting a person on the phone is difficult. There is no direct submission to eFiling, so the return is captured by hand.
