Fine for us, would not recommend for stock heavy businesses

We chose this on price and mostly that decision has held up. Direct bank feeds for Absa, FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank and Capitec. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. I would shortlist it, not necessarily pick it.

What works

Direct bank feeds for Absa, FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank and Capitec. The core ledger is reliable.

What does not

Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should. Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses.

The deepest pool of trained local bookkeepers in the country. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly. The audit trail has answered every query our auditors raised.

What does not

Inventory is too basic for a stock heavy business.

I run the books for three related companies and this is the first system that has kept up. The deepest pool of trained local bookkeepers in the country. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

Free accountant login on every plan. Invoices go out looking professional with no design work. The audit trail has answered every query our auditors raised.

What does not

Reporting beyond the standard pack still ends up in a spreadsheet.

VAT201 output that transfers cleanly to SARS eFiling. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost. Month end close has dropped from six days to two.

What does not

Reporting beyond the standard pack still ends up in a spreadsheet.

The bank feed problems never got fixed

The trial went well. Live use with real volume did not. The honest position is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. It may suit a simpler business than ours.

What works

It is inexpensive.

What does not

The VAT handling required constant manual correction. Bank feed failures went unresolved for weeks. Support responses were slow and generic.
