Employees actually log in, which surprised me

The employee file being in one place made our last inspection straightforward. Clean mobile app for leave requests and approvals. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Leave accrual that follows BCEA rather than a US default. Reporting on headcount and turnover is available without asking IT. The employee file holds everything in one place with proper permissions.

What does not

Recruitment is a separate module at a separate price.

Fine platform, priced above what we use

The configuration took longer than promised, and it works well now. Genuinely easy for line managers to use without training. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Good value, with some real rough edges.

Performance management is basic. The mobile experience is weaker than the desktop.

Leave accruals were wrong from day one

The leave rules never matched the BCEA properly and we gave up correcting them. The thing worth knowing is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. It has cost us more time than it has saved. Test it hard during the trial with real volume before committing.

Support hours do not overlap with our working day. Leave rules never matched South African requirements. The interface is dated and slow.
