Works well, costs more than we planned

Good system, and you must budget for the support relationship indefinitely. Financial controls and audit trail that satisfy group finance. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

The local statutory reporting depends entirely on the partner. Reporting requires a specialist to build.

Traceability paid for itself in one audit

The implementation partner was excellent, which I think matters more than the badge. Global partner network for multi country groups. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Rigorous data model that resists bad practice. Landed cost calculations are accurate including duty and clearing. Traceability from raw material to finished goods is complete.

What does not

Implementation cost more than the licence, as expected but still painful.

We run four warehouses and two companies on this and the consolidation works. Rigorous data model that resists bad practice. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

Rigorous data model that resists bad practice. Stock on hand matches the physical count for the first time in years. Branch reporting comes out without a spreadsheet in between.

What does not

The interface is dense and training is a real line item.

We are still reconciling stock by hand

Under scoped implementation, and we discovered it after go live. Where it earns its keep is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. Test it hard during the trial with real volume before committing.

What works

The core accounting works.

What does not

We are still running parallel spreadsheets. The implementation ran badly over time and budget. Renewal pricing increased well beyond inflation.

Good core, dated interface

The software is capable. Our implementation was mediocre and we are still paying for that. Fast analytics on large datasets through the HANA edition. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.

Version upgrades are projects rather than updates. Remote access needs a hosted desktop.
