Right system, wrong implementation partner

It does everything we asked for and none of it was quick. Global partner network for multi country groups. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

What works

Financial controls and audit trail that satisfy group finance. Reporting is capable once configured.

What does not

Version upgrades are projects rather than updates. Remote access needs a hosted desktop.

Landed cost is finally accurate

We run four warehouses and two companies on this and the consolidation works. Fast analytics on large datasets through the HANA edition. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

What works

Financial controls and audit trail that satisfy group finance. Stock on hand matches the physical count for the first time in years. Consolidation across our companies takes days rather than weeks.

What does not

The interface is dense and training is a real line item.

The localisation was never properly finished

Under scoped implementation, and we discovered it after go live. The thing worth knowing is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. Test it hard during the trial with real volume before committing.

What works

The core accounting works.

What does not

Localisation was incomplete at go live. Renewal pricing increased well beyond inflation. The implementation ran badly over time and budget.

The local statutory reporting was never delivered as promised. What surprised me was that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. It has cost us more time than it has saved. Test it hard during the trial with real volume before committing.
