Good core, dated interface

It does everything we asked for and none of it was quick. Financial controls and audit trail that satisfy group finance. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. I would shortlist it, not necessarily pick it.

What works

Rigorous data model that resists bad practice. The partner network means help is available.

What does not

The local statutory reporting depends entirely on the partner. Version upgrades are projects rather than updates.

Powerful, and it demands a specialist

The software is capable. Our implementation was mediocre and we are still paying for that. Rigorous data model that resists bad practice. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.

What works

Fast analytics on large datasets through the HANA edition. The partner network means help is available.

What does not

Remote access needs a hosted desktop. The local statutory reporting depends entirely on the partner.

Landed cost is finally accurate

The implementation partner was excellent, which I think matters more than the badge. Global partner network for multi country groups. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

What works

Financial controls and audit trail that satisfy group finance. Stock on hand matches the physical count for the first time in years. Traceability from raw material to finished goods is complete.

What does not

Configuration changes need the partner rather than an internal administrator.

Renewal came in forty percent higher

The local statutory reporting was never delivered as promised. Where it earns its keep is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. I would look elsewhere unless price is the only consideration.

What works

It is stable once running.

What does not

Renewal pricing increased well beyond inflation. The implementation ran badly over time and budget. We are still running parallel spreadsheets.

There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.
