Stock and the ledger finally agree

Two years post go live and I would make the same decision. South African founded, with local consultants and support. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

Landed cost handling that covers the full import chain. Branch reporting comes out without a spreadsheet in between. Traceability from raw material to finished goods is complete.

What does not

The interface is dense and training is a real line item.

Good core, dated interface

Good system, and you must budget for the support relationship indefinitely. Landed cost handling that covers the full import chain. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. I would shortlist it, not necessarily pick it.

What works

Mature material requirements planning. The financials module is solid.

What does not

Version upgrades are projects rather than updates. The local statutory reporting depends entirely on the partner.

One system across four branches

We run four warehouses and two companies on this and the consolidation works. Lot traceability from raw material to finished goods. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

Mature material requirements planning. Branch reporting comes out without a spreadsheet in between. Multi warehouse transfers are visible and auditable.

What does not

The interface is dense and training is a real line item.

Implementation ran eleven months over

The local statutory reporting was never delivered as promised. Where it earns its keep is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. It has cost us more time than it has saved. It may suit a simpler business than ours.

What works

The core accounting works.

What does not

Renewal pricing increased well beyond inflation. We are still running parallel spreadsheets. Localisation was incomplete at go live.
