Bank feeds alone justify the subscription

We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. Very low learning curve. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Invoices that genuinely look professional without design work. Invoices go out looking professional with no design work. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost.

What does not

Support response times slow noticeably at month end.

Migration was painful, the result was worth it

After two years I can say the reconciliation time saving is real and it is significant. Very low learning curve. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Very low learning curve. Bank feeds match transactions accurately and the rules learn quickly. Month end close has dropped from six days to two.

What does not

Support response times slow noticeably at month end.

Does the job, will not delight you

We chose this on price and mostly that decision has held up. Automatic, well judged payment reminders. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

Inventory cannot handle multiple warehouses. Getting a person on the phone is difficult.

The bank feed problems never got fixed

I have spent more time working around this than working in it. What surprised me was that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. Test it hard during the trial with real volume before committing.

What does not

Support responses were slow and generic. Bank feed failures went unresolved for weeks. Migration lost historical detail we needed for the audit.

Not built for a South African VAT vendor

The trial went well. Live use with real volume did not. The thing worth knowing is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. It may suit a simpler business than ours.
