Works, but BCEA leave needed configuring

It has reduced admin, just not as much as the demo suggested. Employment equity plans built to survive an inspection. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

What works

Industrial relations specialists who will attend the CCMA with you. Managers found it easy enough to use.

What does not

There is no local payroll integration. The mobile experience is weaker than the desktop.

The employee file being in one place made our last inspection straightforward. Industrial relations specialists who will attend the CCMA with you. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

Employment equity plans built to survive an inspection. The employee file holds everything in one place with proper permissions. Reporting on headcount and turnover is available without asking IT.

What does not

Recruitment is a separate module at a separate price.

Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

Skills development and B-BBEE scorecard support. Document storage with e signature removed a printing step entirely. Reporting on headcount and turnover is available without asking IT.

We went back to spreadsheets after nine months

The leave rules never matched the BCEA properly and we gave up correcting them. In practice, the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. Test it hard during the trial with real volume before committing.
