Migration was painful, the result was worth it

I run the books for three related companies and this is the first system that has kept up. Multi currency from the middle tier. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

What works

Large global template and app ecosystem. Invoices go out looking professional with no design work. VAT201 figures come out right without a manual working paper.

What does not

Reporting beyond the standard pack still ends up in a spreadsheet.

Our bookkeeper got two days a month back

After two years I can say the reconciliation time saving is real and it is significant. Large global template and app ecosystem. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

The best mobile receipt capture in the category. VAT201 figures come out right without a manual working paper. Month end close has dropped from six days to two.

What does not

Inventory is too basic for a stock heavy business.

Bank feeds alone justify the subscription

We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. Multi currency from the middle tier. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

What works

Large global template and app ecosystem. Multi currency handling is genuinely correct on unrealised gains. Month end close has dropped from six days to two.

What does not

The interface has not aged well.

Support took eleven days to answer a VAT query

We committed to this on a recommendation and I regret not testing it properly first. In practice, the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. Test it hard during the trial with real volume before committing.

What works

The invoicing side works.

What does not

Support responses were slow and generic. Bank feed failures went unresolved for weeks. The VAT handling required constant manual correction.

Works well once you accept its limits

We chose this on price and mostly that decision has held up. The best mobile receipt capture in the category. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.

What works

Reporting and budgeting well ahead of its price point. The core ledger is reliable.

What does not

Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should. The report customisation is limited.
