The whole team adopted it in a fortnight

Client status reporting used to take a morning a week. Now it takes ten minutes. Portfolio roll ups that give a programme director one honest view. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

What works

Critical path scheduling with dependencies and baselines. Automation handles the routine handoffs between teams. The mobile app is good enough for approvals on the road.

What does not

Without governance the number of boards grows out of control.

Simple enough that people actually use it

Client status reporting used to take a morning a week. Now it takes ten minutes. Critical path scheduling with dependencies and baselines. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

What works

Resource allocation across many concurrent projects. The mobile app is good enough for approvals on the road. Templates mean a new project is set up in minutes.

What does not

Without governance the number of boards grows out of control.

Client reporting takes minutes now

The team asked to keep it after the trial, which has never happened before. Critical path scheduling with dependencies and baselines. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

Critical path scheduling with dependencies and baselines. Time tracking sits with the tasks, so billing is accurate. Automation handles the routine handoffs between teams.

What does not

Seat bands mean paying for people who do not exist.

Adoption was harder than expected

It works, we just had to redo our structure after four months of getting it wrong. Portfolio roll ups that give a programme director one honest view. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. It is a reasonable choice, provided you know what it does not do.

What works

Resource allocation across many concurrent projects. Setup was quick.

What does not

The learning curve for the advanced features is real. Performance degrades on a large workspace.

The whole team adopted it in a fortnight

We rolled it out to twenty two people and adoption was close to complete within a month. An Excel like formula language spreadsheet users already know. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

Portfolio roll ups that give a programme director one honest view. Everyone can see what is due this week without asking. Time tracking sits with the tasks, so billing is accurate.

What does not

Reporting is weaker than the task management.

We paid for fifteen seats and used nine

Performance on our office connection made it a chore. For context, the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. It may suit a simpler business than ours.

What works

It looks good.

What does not

We paid for a tier we could not make use of. It was too slow on our connection. Half the team never adopted it.
