The whole team adopted it in a fortnight

The team asked to keep it after the trial, which has never happened before. Portfolio roll ups that give a programme director one honest view. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

An Excel like formula language spreadsheet users already know. Everyone can see what is due this week without asking. Templates mean a new project is set up in minutes.

What does not

Reporting is weaker than the task management.

The whole team adopted it in a fortnight

Client status reporting used to take a morning a week. Now it takes ten minutes. Resource allocation across many concurrent projects. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. It is not perfect, and it is the right choice for us.

What works

An Excel like formula language spreadsheet users already know. The mobile app is good enough for approvals on the road. Templates mean a new project is set up in minutes.

What does not

Without governance the number of boards grows out of control.

Visibility across twelve projects, finally

Client status reporting used to take a morning a week. Now it takes ten minutes. Critical path scheduling with dependencies and baselines. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

What works

Portfolio roll ups that give a programme director one honest view. Client facing views mean fewer status emails. Time tracking sits with the tasks, so billing is accurate.

Visibility across twelve projects, finally

We rolled it out to twenty two people and adoption was close to complete within a month. Critical path scheduling with dependencies and baselines. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

Good value, occasional performance problems

Good tool. The pricing bands do not suit a team of our size. Critical path scheduling with dependencies and baselines. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. I would shortlist it, not necessarily pick it.

What works

An Excel like formula language spreadsheet users already know. Task management is reliable.

What does not

The learning curve for the advanced features is real. There is no native time tracking.

Reporting could not answer basic questions

Performance on our office connection made it a chore. The thing worth knowing is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. The gaps are the kind that create work rather than save it. I would look elsewhere unless price is the only consideration.

What works

It looks good.

What does not

Half the team never adopted it. It was too slow on our connection. We paid for a tier we could not make use of.

Good value, occasional performance problems

Half the team lives in it and half still work from email. Critical path scheduling with dependencies and baselines. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.

What works

An Excel like formula language spreadsheet users already know. The views are flexible.

What does not

Performance degrades on a large workspace. The learning curve for the advanced features is real.

Reporting could not answer basic questions

It became a graveyard of half finished boards nobody trusted. In practice, the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. It has cost us more time than it has saved. I would look elsewhere unless price is the only consideration.

What works

The free tier is generous.

What does not

We paid for a tier we could not make use of. Half the team never adopted it. It was too slow on our connection.
