Migrated away after fourteen months

We committed to this on a recommendation and I regret not testing it properly first. The thing worth knowing is that the parts we were sold on never worked the way they were demonstrated. It has cost us more time than it has saved. We moved to an alternative and the difference was immediate.

What works

The invoicing side works.

What does not

Bank feed failures went unresolved for weeks. Support responses were slow and generic. The VAT handling required constant manual correction.

Solid, boring, and that is exactly what I wanted

There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. Worth the migration effort, which is not something I say often.

Finally a ledger our accountant does not complain about

Our practice put four clients on this before we moved our own business across. Built in client portal at no extra cost. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. The most functionality per rand in the category by a wide margin. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. I would recommend it to a business of our size without hesitation.

What works

Built in client portal at no extra cost. Month end close has dropped from six days to two. Our accountant has their own login at no extra cost.

What does not

Support response times slow noticeably at month end.

Does the job, will not delight you

It has been fine, with a couple of persistent irritations. A free plan that is genuinely usable, not a demo. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.
