Does the compliance work without being asked

We moved across from a desktop package eighteen months ago and I would not go back. Built in client portal at no extra cost. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. Nothing has come up in the last year that I would call a real problem. Two years in and nobody has suggested we look at alternatives.

What works

A workflow engine competitors do not offer at any tier. VAT201 figures come out right without a manual working paper. Month end close has dropped from six days to two.

What does not

Support response times slow noticeably at month end.

Reconciliation went from a week to an afternoon

I run the books for three related companies and this is the first system that has kept up. A workflow engine competitors do not offer at any tier. That is the part that genuinely changed how we work. There are irritations, and none of them are the kind that make you look elsewhere. If you are weighing it up, do the trial with your own data and you will see it.

Fine for us, would not recommend for stock heavy businesses

We chose this on price and mostly that decision has held up. A free plan that is genuinely usable, not a demo. Beyond that it is more ordinary than the marketing suggests. It sits squarely in the middle for us, useful but not something I would champion. Fine for our needs. Test it properly against your own requirements.

What works

Built in client portal at no extra cost. Pricing is predictable with no surprise increases.

What does not

The report customisation is limited. Bank feeds drop and need reauthorising more often than they should.
